This is my bodygraph. That’s what we call it in Human Design. It’s a kind of map of your energetic wiring. Learning how to read this map has changed everything for me.

If you can imagine the energetic blueprint of a human being — this is like a circuit board made up of nine energy centers, all connected by intricate pathways or circuitry.

It’s a map of your energetic anatomy. The mechanics of your aura. Your unique wiring.

Human Design brings together multiple systems — the I-Ching, Astrology (specifically the position of the planets in the 64 I-Ching hexagrams), DNA and genetic coding (which mirror those same 64 hexagrams!), Quantum Physics, the ancient Kabbalistic Tree of Life, and the Hindu-Brahmin chakra system — to generate this energetic blueprint.

Human Design gives us a language to interpret and understand that map. It’s a tool for reading the energy currents that run through us — and learning how to work with them, so there’s less resistance in life.

If you look at the picture of my bodygraph above, you’ll see I’ve circled one of the centers — the Solar Plexus Center, which is the emotional center. You’ll notice it isn’t colored in. That means I don’t have a consistent current of emotional energy running through it. And the pathways leading into it are all white, too — meaning this center is completely open.

Long story short — and I’ll explain this in more detail in future posts — but what that’s meant for me is: I’ve had to learn what it means to have a totally open emotional center. And that makes me what you’d call a textbook empath.

Whenever I feel emotions, I’m usually picking them up from other people, or from the environment around me, or from the natural movements of the planets within the greater cosmic flow.

Through these open centers, we receive energy from the external world — and we amplify it.

The centers that are colored in are defined and consistent within us — we can rely on them. They’re us. But the open centers are where we fall into ‘not-self’ themes. They’re where we’re open to conditioning. Where we can be conditioned away from our own inner-truth and authenticity.

So for me, the biggest thing I’ve learned is:

I work best when I listen to my life-force energy as my guide for decision-making, rather than my emotions or mind.

This doesn’t mean I don’t feel emotions — I actually feel them very, very deeply and powerfully. It just means I’ve had to learn how to become more sensitive to what’s actually mine, and what I might be picking up or amplifying from the environment around me. It’s not about denying emotions — it’s about developing the clarity to navigate them in a way that’s more grounded and truthful for me.

In practice, this means noticing the immediate energetic shift in my body when I’m faced with a decision. Does my energy rise, expand, and light up — a clear, embodied yes? Do I feel a natural surge of availability for what’s in front of me? Or does my energy contract, feel heavy, or pull away — a steady no.

The moment I leave that immediate bodily truth and go up into my head — reasoning, weighing pros and cons, trying to be “logical” — I’ve already moved away from my authority and into my not-self. My truth lives in that first, direct, present-moment response of my body.

That’s where my truth is.

This is what Human Design calls Sacral Authority — it’s not emotional, it’s not mental. And it’s not language-based. It’s a gut-level energetic response to life in the moment where my energy either rises up and says ‘yes’ to life, or not.

It’s an immediate, embodied truth in the now.

And this is what I’m learning to trust.

Your inner-authority might be different. If your emotional center is defined or colored in, this means you are someone who should actually never make decision in the present moment - but should always ‘sleep on it’ and take your time to deeply feel all of your emotions and perspectives until you reach emotional clarity.

So you see, having this center defined would give you a totally different kind of inner-authority that you could use to make decisions in your life that are aligned with your truth.

We are all different. Each person is their own unique Star, moving through space in its own specific and differentiated geometry with its own individual authority.

Another name for Human Design is the Science of Differentiation.

It’s how we are all wired differently and uniquely. This is why general, homogenised advice for life doesn’t work. You have your own unique energetic circuitry that once you understand, becomes the thing that you can relax back into, and release all of the conditioning that’s been placed upon you.

Learning how to see through the emotional and mental fog that clouds my decision-making has allowed me to start recognizing what I can rely on within me — and to make decisions that are actually in alignment with my truth.

It’s helped me move away from the loop of indecision, second-guessing, and seeking validation outside myself — and instead, anchor into the truth of my immediate, embodied knowing in the now

I can relax back into my own inner-truth and personal authority.

And that’s what I’m doing now.

I’m learning to honor the truth of my energy.

To trust where my energy wants to go.

And to surrender to the authority of my life-force energy, the authority of my true self.

This is the journey I’ve been on.

I’ll continue to share more about what I’ve learned, what I’m living, and how this experiment continues to shape the way I move through the world.
